Expect the Unexpected

We had no way of knowing what would excite our kids about being in Mexico.  For Helen, it has been swimming at the Holiday Inn pool, where we are staying for the first three nights.  She has made several friends, although she has yet to make friends with kids who speak only spanish.  For Max, it has been the prevalence of Volkswagon bugs, or "punch buggies."  They are everywhere.  And whenever he sees one, he says "punch buggy no punch-backs" and hits me.  There is at least one on every block.  It's a little annoying, but less annoying than having him complain about having to walk so much to find a place to eat or to get a drink.  As long as we keep seeing punch buggies, no complaints.  Max also is really enjoying the street markets, where he has tested his spanish and his bargaining skills.

We will visit the house we rented today, and we move in tomorrow.
